LEVEL UP

Hot girls have stomach problems. At least that’s the excuse I tell myself after stress DoorDashing Taco Bell at midnight.

Imagine your gut as that friend who overreacts to every text and your brain as the one sending mixed signals—yep, it's complicated. This dynamic duo communicates via the "gut-brain axis," a hot gossip line where emotions and enzymes chat. Feeling anxious? Your gut's already ordering up a side of discomfort. Excited? Your stomach might just join in with flips of its own.

Now, here’s the tea (☕️) on tuning this relationship: mindfulness and gut-loving grub. Slowing down and breathing deep can calm the chat between your brain and belly, turning down the drama. And the food you eat? It's like the advice you give to that overreacting friend—choose wisely. Probiotics are the supportive BFFs, encouraging good vibes in your gut, while fiber-rich foods keep things moving smoother than your favorite influencer's skin routine. So, yes, while hot girls (and all cool people) might navigate the choppy waters of stomach issues, a little mindfulness and a lot of gut-friendly eats can help steer us towards calmer seas. Managing the mind-gut connection isn't just about feeling better; it's about thriving, one less stomach tantrum at a time.

BRAINFEED & SHAREABLES

  • ICYMI – Hailey Bieber's strategic launch of the Rhode phone case, tailored exclusively for her brand's lip gloss, isn't just smart marketing—it's a savvy move in the booming lip gloss industry. In a world where convenience is king and Apple Pay rules, her design ensures you never leave your gloss behind, a subtle yet genius nod to the modern consumer's habits. This innovation sets her apart in the crowded beauty space, proving Hailey's not just playing the game; she's redefining it, making her and Rhode stand out in a market where standing out is everything. I haven’t used Rhode’s products before, but this might make me a fan. 💋💄

HER HUSTLE & COFFEE

I love finding new coffee shops and meeting other female founders, so I started a series to share stories of female entrepreneurs at coffee shops around New York City.

To kickoff my female founder coffee chat series, I interviewed Isabella Epstein, the co-founder of Kndrd – the IRL Social Network.

Tina Mai and Isabella Epstein, co-founders of Kndrd

Kndrd is an app for spontaneous hangouts where you can find things to do and people to do them with. Check out the full video interview here, or highlights from our conversation below.

What has been the biggest challenge as a female founder?
“Most of the rooms I walk into are filled with men. I feel like I have to speak louder to be heard, but I actually don’t think of it as a challenge.”

How did you build the initial Kndrd community to what it is now?
“I approached 1,000 strangers on the street and expressed that I was frustrated by this problem, and they confided me the same. ”

What’s one piece of advice that you would give to other female founders?
“You’re here because you belong here and if there isn’t a seat for you at the table, just pull up a chair.”

Since, Kndrd has launched their beta and has been featured in Business Insider not once, but twice.

📍Talea Beer Co. (West Village): 7/10 – Woman-owned, gorgeous space (with a lot of seating), mid coffee, but the vibes make up for it.

Of course I can’t end without a quote: “Just because it’s taking time doesn’t mean it’s not happening. Everything that matters takes time.
